Bond

About Bond

Together, Tania Davis (Violin), Eos Counsell (Violin), Elspeth Hanson (Viola) and Gay-Yee Westerhoff (Cello) complete the line-up of BOND.

All the members of BOND have been educated to the highest standard at some of the world’s most celebrated music institutions (Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Guildhall and Trinity College of Music).

BOND is without doubt the first truly globally successful classical crossover group who over the past two decades have amassed a diverse and devoted international fan base of millions.

Their debut album “Born” quickly reached number one on the UK official classical music chart and they have subsequently gone on to sell millions of award-winning albums Worldwide, making them the best-selling string quartet of all time and are very proud to have been awarded The Freedom of the City of London.

BOND have received a staggering 56 platinum and 15 gold disc awards to their credit and their new single “Come Home” released June 25th 2020 on Windsor Avenue Records premiered on Scala Radio by Mark Forrest on his show and shot straight to the number one position on the iTunes Classical Charts ahead of releases by Celine Dion and Andrea Boccelli with Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa.

BOND have never been shy of recording and performing songs seemingly out of character for them such as “Miserlou” (Dick Dale), “Bitter Sweet Symphony” (The Verve), “I Am the Walrus” (The Beatles) plus improvised medleys of Lady GaGa and Nirvana songs!

They are themselves respected as songwriters, arrangers and producers having also presided over a number of their own successful recordings, including their most recent singles.

They have in recent years also been writing and recording with a number of renowned songwriters and record producers including David Arnold, Nitin Sawhney, Toby Pitman, Kevin Malpass, Tonci Hulji and Michael Giacchino, performing at Michael’s 50th birthday concert and his 2019 Christmas Variety show both at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

BOND have performed with many of the world’s leading international artists, including amongst others, Luciano Pavarotti, Nigel Kennedy, Nick Mason, Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra.

They have enjoyed many career highlights and touring the world many times over, performing in world class venues, from their debut (and subsequent headline concerts) at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Shea Stadium in NYC, the Worker’s Stadium in Beijing, Times Square NYC and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

A major highlight was performing in front of millions both live and via Worldwide TV/Media during the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games London 2012.

In 2019 BOND performed at March 4 Women in Westminster Hall London and returned March 2020.

In January 2020 they performed a sell out show at the prestigious Union Chapel in London where they played favourites and a few new songs including recent singles, ‘I Can’ Wait’ as featured on the BBC2 and Amazon Prime show, ‘Good Omens’ and ‘Panthera’. The concert featured an acoustic section where they performed their 2020 #1Tunes Classical chart  single ‘Come Home’ accompanied by Jack Pepper of Scala Radio playing on the piano.

Incredibly October 2020 marks 20 years since the release of BOND’s first album.  2021 focuses on celebrating their career and doing what they do best…. Performing.
